I feel like it's such an accomplishment that Khadijat created a peer support group for recovery outside of 12-step orthodoxy. I've been in so many 12-step rooms that push back on the very idea of groups that cater to or only allow certain identities. I respect the ideal that's often behind that, how we're all just alcoholics, but it can also be flattening and dismissive of actual lived experiences.
