Such a beautiful essay about a beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing this. Grief means you loved the best way possible.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Katie. It's so hard to lose a dog--they're the best, such sweet and wise companions, and it sounds like Sally was one of the all time greatest. Love to you.

A beautiful essay I’ve now read twice. You and Sally are connected forever. I am so deeply sorry for this profound loss. Dogs are indeed - and sometimes better than - family. Holding you tightly in my heart as you work with this grief.

Thank you so much for sharing this. It’s so relevant to my own current experience with sobriety and my aging rescue beagle that I almost didn’t read it. I’m so glad I did. Thank you again for sharing. ❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss. A beloved pet is woven into the fibres of our lives, every day and hour and minute, and when they go, the absence is so stark. Your love of each other shines brightly in this piece.

Losing a fur child and companion is the worst. I’ve read studies the say it impacts us more than losing a human. Grieve at your own pace and never let anyone make you feel like she was “just a dog”. She was not. None of them are.

I’ve been thinking of you and her. And I know her energy is floating around up here. 🩷 Sending love 💙

I can feel the honesty and the love. Thank you for sharing.

I hope that when grief clears you out, you realize Sally will never be totally fine from your life.
